To deal with your most embarassing problems, you don’t have to go to the drug store. Use ingredients you may already have in your kitchen to fix these problems.
For Yellow, Stained Teeth: Baking Soda and Strawberries
Baking soda is a natural abrasive that is used for teeth cleaning since long, while strawberries contain malic acid which is a tooth whitening agent. Combine 1 tablespoon baking soda and two crushed strawberries. Brush the mixture onto your teeth and then let it sit for a couple of minutes. Rinse or brush your teeth following the treatment. (While effective, this solution is not a long term one)
For Gas and Bloating: Fennel Seeds
Fennel seeds have carminative effect naturally (means they help eliminate gas). Chew on a spoonful of seeds after eating a big meal.
For Body Odor: Apple Cider Vinegar
Sweat does not smell bad but only before it is exposed to air and bacteria. After that it begins to break down and emit odor. Apple cider (or white) vinegar is supposed to lower PH level of the skin, effectively creating a not suitable environment for bacteria to thrive. After shower, splash this vinegar under your arms.
For Dandruf: Fenugreek Seeds
More chronic cases of dandruff are caused by conditions like psoriasis, eczema or a fungus called malassezia that runs rampant in the scalp. This causes scalp skin turnover to happen too fast, making the skin flake off faster, resulting in dandruff.
Most important factor to treat dandruff is to keep the scalp clean always and to avoid irritating hair products. You can also create a scalp-conditioning mask with fenugreek seeds. Soak two tablespoons overnight and then grind them into a paste. Massage the mixture into your scalp and let sit for an hour. Shampoo your hair and rinse with 1 fresh tablespoon of lime juice mixed with water.
For Cold Sores: Lemon Balm
Known to reduce healing time and, in some cases, prevent cold sores from coming back, lemon balm is a calming herb with antimicrobial properties. Look for lemon balm cream, ointment or supplements. You can also buy the herb itself, brew it as a tea and apply it with a cotton ball to a sore.
